grown up... all most

Lil's been growing like crazy, though you wouldn't know it from this poor, sad, neglected blog. The only consolation is that I'm busy mothering actual people, not just failing to rant on the internet, so that's a plus (right?). A few weeks ago I snapped some  photos of Lil in a fitted beatnik turtleneck and skinny jeans, with her hair pulled back in a messy pony tail, รก la, Kate Moss circa 2008. Yes, Lil looked much cuter (and a little chubbier) than Ms. Moss, but what was really stunning was her ability to transform from a baby to a little girl one frame to the next. These pics did not span months or weeks— just a few minutes and a couple emotions.

raspberry tart

Lil's big day in required something she could move in.  Now that she is officially a pre-crawler (aka, scootcher), bodysuits must be stretchier, sleeves must be shorter, and a little grip on the toes doesn't hurt.  Lil made her way around the living room floor stylishly in a raspberry flutter-sleeve body suit and some little socks...

Little yummy socks, apparently.

Hair!

Something new for Lil that money can't buy- a new 'do! Lil's finally got enough hair that it needs a little styling.  No barrettes for this little trendsetter.  We went with a spikey little mohawk.  Product-free, of course.

meet the next L'il Miss Brooklyn!

What a day!! We are just SO exhausted. Lil had a big day today.  I decided that Lil is just too cute for this blog, and what better way to share her beauty and her talents but by entering her in baby beauty pageants!  So with the help of my neighbor Erin, we designed a hair piece for baby Lil, got her dressed in her sparkliest tutu, and took her on down to the L'il Miss Pageant offices here in Brooklyn.  Needless to say, they were blown away her good looks and mesmerizing smile.  But I am extra excited because her ability to roll over half way and hold up her head are considered infant talents!  This little girl is on track to become the next big thing on Toddlers and Tiaras.  Who doesn't love that show!

Lil was tuckered out after a VERY exciting day!

This weekend we'll be working on her head shots, and finding the best baby beauty pageant gear.  (If anyone knows where I can get a teeny tiara, please let me know in the comments!) I know Papa is going to be SO happy for his little princess...

Oh!  One last thing before I crawl into bed on this VERY exciting first day of April...
