Lil had some special visitors over the Columbus Day weekend, so we all headed out to tour Manhattan. Our first stop was not the shrine for Steve Jobs on Fifth Ave, instead we headed to the Central Park Zoo to see some fuzzy (or feathered) creatures. It was anyone's guess how she'd react to animals other than Kitty and The Cat, so we were pleased to find out she was delighted by some marmosets, tickled by the tamarinds, marveled by mongooses, and laughing at lemurs.  She even clapped for a hungry harbor seal!  It may be possible that she just assumes all animals are some form of cat, and there may be some confusion when it comes time to learn animal sounds.  Imagine asking Lil, "what sound does a kitty-cat make?" and she responds "arf-arf-arf," like a sea lion.  Oh dear...

All this sun and cool air means that Lil can finally get to have some real outdoor fun.  Over at Cooper Park, there is a lovely kiddie playground with enough baby swings to go around.  Lil got her thrills  on the swings as the sun set behind her.  She watched the big kids play on the bouncy bridge, and go head first down the slide.  Next year Lil plans on doing the same, but for now the swing is her playground.

Now that summer is really over, Mama started out the day packing up Lil's summer wardrobe.  It was hard knowing that none of those cute outfits would ever be worn by Lil again! Some of our favorites date back to spring, like these looks from late May.  And remember how adorable she was on her 5th month birthday? Indeed, Lil's first summer was full of some memorable looks, but fall will be full of new looks- textures, layers, and rich colors, plus new accessories- hats, boots and mittens!

It's Tuesday again, and we have another video for you.  Here is Lil from the weekend's photo shoot, cruising through the jungle in her irresistible leopard print romper.  Nothing too exciting, but she is a baby wearing a cat-eared romper.  And she babbles.

Oh Lil watchers, you have been very patient.  We promise this post is well worth the wait! This weekend was full of ups and downs, mostly ups for Lil, and downs for Mama.  (Don't worry, just a little under the weather, that's all.)  Mama had a mission to get some good pics of Lil's remarkable new teeth- the vampire fangs she's apparently sprouted in time for Halloween.  It was quite a challenge getting the right smile at the right angle with enough lighting.  Any wildlife photographer will tell you all the perseverance pays off when you get that one shot at the end.  Once she was in her leopard print romper (with kitten-eared hood) Lil bared her fangs for the camera.  Mama was very still, so as not to spook the critter, and just as the sun peeked through the clouds, Lil's lips parted and the shutter clicked at the right moment!
